"HTC Europe Co. Ltd" on the product information label may indicate that the controller was developed and designed in Europe.
(Yingwei & nbsp; March 01, 2019) HTC's latest VR Integration Suite for the enterprise market Vive & nbsp; Focus Plus has gone further. According to the announcement of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the 6DoF controller supported by Vive Focus Plus has been approved by the FCC.
According to the product information label chart published by the FCC, "HTC Europe Co. Ltd" on the product information label may indicate that the controller was developed and designed in Europe. Of course, manufacturing is done in Taiwan, which is clearly indicated on the information label.
Vive Focus's six-degree-of-freedom controller uses the combination of ultrasonic tracking and IMU to track the user's hands. Ultrasound tracking system triangulates sound waves higher than human auditory range, and uses a series of receivers to identify the time difference between the echoes emitted by the tracked object.
HTC first released the Vive Focus VR integrated machine to support inward and outward positioning at the end of 2017, and then went on sale with the 3DoF controller at the beginning of 2018. HTC officially released the 6 DoF controller for Vive Focus at the World VR Industry Conference in Nanchang in October 2018.
The VR integrated machine suite with dual 6DoF controllers was eventually identified as Vive Focus Plus, the main enterprise market. It is planned to be sold to 25 countries/regions worldwide in Q2 this year, and the price still needs to be further announced.
The article "Vive Focus 6DoF Controller Approved by American FCC" was first published on Yingwei.
